The Beginning
This is the first blog I've written, so I'll try not to ramble or waffle along; as I do that often in conversations...
At a young age I was quite shy because I wasn't always on the same wavelength as most of the other kids, and as a result I kind of kept to myself. However, as I got older I learnt (through many awkward moments) to embrace myself more and turn my quirks into something interesting and witty; thus I made new friends and a handful of best friends.
With my budding confidence I learnt to talk to large range of people; older, younger, more 'normal' and 'stranger' people. Meeting new people soon became fun and inspiring, as opposed to feeling forced. But enough about my strange childhood...
I've always loved to draw and write stories, I always come up with a background story for characters as I draw them. I find it helps me shape their final look, stance and overall appearance. I also like to read, cook, do sports, play games, test mods, fix computer bugs, learn languages... I like quite a few things actually, but I'd say games, languages and art have always been the main cogs that turned the wheels of my life so far.
It was around the middle of my first year of college at Carshalton, that I decided that I wanted to go into the game art sector. I'd joined Carshalton to do their Game Development course as I knew I wanted to make games, but I wasn't sure which stage I wanted to be a part of.
However, after constantly noticing how much effort and general love went into doing the more creative side of the course, I knew that I wanted to be a game artist.
I then honed my art skills that I'd nurtured over the years in my own time and in education and am quite proud at the level I've gotten to, but I know (and have been often told) that the sky is the limit.
Though university is definitely daunting, and I know it will be hard work. I honestly couldn't be happier.
